Mode of action
IZATURBO® acts through an infection process that occurs mainly via the insect’s cuticle. The fungus germinates in approximately 12 hours when conditions are suitable. Penetration into the insect can occur through two pathways:
- Through the cuticle, primarily, by mechanical and chemical (enzymatic) action;
- Through the respiratory system, via the spiracles.
Depending on the species, the insect may be fully colonized by the fungus within 72 hours after application of the biological crop protection product. Death occurs due to nutrient depletion and the accumulation of toxic substances.
Infected insects become rigid and are covered by a layer of mycelium that later transforms into conidiophores, a powdery layer of conidia capable of infecting other healthy insects in the area, increasing the product’s efficacy.
Application
Ground application:
Application must be carried out using a backpack sprayer, tractor-mounted boom sprayer or airblast sprayer, calibrated to operate with constant pressure and spray volume. Equipment should be fitted with nozzles that minimize drift and promote uniform coverage, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Apply a spray volume of 80 to 300 L/ha. For soil-directed applications, regardless of crop, apply when soil is moist or, if necessary, irrigate lightly after application.
Aerial application:
For applications, use an agricultural aircraft equipped with spray nozzles or rotary atomizers that ensure uniform coverage, following the manufacturer’s recommendations. Apply a spray volume of 30 to 60 L/ha. For this method, the use of the Naft® adjuvant is recommended at 50 to 100 mL/ha.
Drone application:
For foliar applications, use agricultural spraying drones equipped with spray nozzles or rotary atomizers that ensure uniform coverage, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Apply a minimum spray volume of 10 L/ha. For this method, the use of the Naft® adjuvant is recommended at 50 to 100 mL/ha.
Follow the application technology recommendations provided by the responsible agronomist.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to your questions about the use and benefits of our products.
What is IZATURBO® and what is its function?
IZATURBO® is a microbiological insecticide formulated with the fungus Isaria javanica BV14, an exclusive strain from Vittia. It is recommended for the biological control of pests such as whitefly, fall armyworm, corn leafhopper and citrus psyllid, combining rapid action with prolonged residual effect.
What does oil dispersion (OD) formulation mean?
The OD formulation is a system in which the fungus is suspended in an oil-based medium, protecting the spores from moisture and degradation. This technology ensures better adhesion to leaves, improved penetration on plant surfaces, and greater protection against sunlight and humidity, resulting in superior field performance.
Does IZATURBO® act quickly?
Yes. This exclusive strain of Isaria javanica BV14 has fast initial action, penetrating insects approximately 12 hours after contact. Infected pests reduce feeding and die, while the residual effect continues controlling new pests over time.
