Mode of action

Tricho-Vit® (Trichogramma pretiosum) is an egg-parasitoid micro-wasp. The females locate pest eggs in the field and deposit their own eggs inside them, interrupting the pest’s cycle at the earliest stage. Instead of caterpillars, parasitized eggs produce new micro-wasps, which can be identified by their darkened coloration.

Application

Tricho-Vit® can be applied via drone or manually. The frequency and quantity of releases depend on the biological target and infestation level.

A minimum of three applications is recommended, with adjustments according to pest monitoring and field presence. Applications are weekly. The number of individuals released may vary depending on the need, starting from the standard dose of 100,000 and reaching up to 550,000 individuals per area.

Dosage:

  • Manual bulk release: Each 50 mL of product contains 100,000 individuals. Application must be done with a 5 mL dispenser, totaling 50 mL per hectare, distributed at 10 equidistant points to ensure homogeneous release.
  • Drone release: Each 7 mL of product contains 100,000 individuals. Use this dose as a baseline, adjusting according to the biological target.
