Mode of action
Infection by Bovéria-Turbo® WP occurs mainly through the insect cuticle. Germination takes place between 12 and 18 hours after contact, using nutrients such as glucose, chitin and nitrogen available in the host.
Cuticular penetration occurs through both mechanical and chemical (enzymatic) action, and the full penetration process takes approximately 12 hours. Around 72 hours after inoculation, the insect is completely colonized by the fungus. Death occurs due to nutrient depletion and the accumulation of toxic substances.
Colonized insects become rigid and covered by a white layer of mycelium, which later develops into conidiophores, a powdery layer of conidia capable of contaminating other healthy insects in the area, enhancing the effectiveness of biological pest control.
Application
The product can be applied using the following methods:
Ground application:
Application must be carried out using a backpack sprayer, tractor-mounted boom sprayer or airblast sprayer, calibrated to operate with constant pressure and spray volume. Equipment should be fitted with nozzles that minimize drift and promote uniform coverage, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Apply a spray volume of 80 to 300 L/ha. For applications directed to the soil, regardless of crop, application should be performed with moist soil or followed by light irrigation if necessary.
Aerial application:
For foliar applications, use an agricultural aircraft equipped with spray nozzles or rotary atomizers that ensure uniform coverage, following the manufacturer’s recommendations. Apply a spray volume of 30 to 60 L/ha. For this application method, the use of the adjuvant Naft® is recommended at a rate of 50 to 100 mL/ha.
Drone application:
For foliar applications, use agricultural spraying drones equipped with spray nozzles or rotary atomizers that ensure uniform coverage, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Apply a minimum spray volume of 10 L/ha. For this method, the use of the adjuvant Naft® is recommended at a rate of 50 to 100 mL/ha.

Product for agricultural use only. CATEGORY 5 – PRODUCT UNLIKELY TO CAUSE ACUTE HARM. Always consult an agronomist and follow all instructions correctly. Integrated pest management is highly recommended. Read the label and ensure that anyone handling the product understands it. When handling the product, use the personal protective equipment specified on the label and leaflet. Packaging must be delivered to inpEV collection units.

What is Bovéria-Turbo® WP and what is it used for?
Bovéria-Turbo® WP is a microbiological insecticide formulated with the fungus Beauveria bassiana BVF15, an exclusive strain from Vittia known for its high virulence and effectiveness in controlling pests such as whitefly, corn leafhopper, sugarcane weevil and coffee berry borer. It is a safe and effective biological solution for various agricultural crops.
What does the WP (wettable powder) formulation mean?
WP stands for “Wettable Powder.” It is a solid, dry and stable formulation that becomes liquid and ready for application only after being dispersed in water, forming a suspension for field use.
Why is UV protection important?
UV radiation can reduce the viability of microorganisms applied in the field. The formulation of Bovéria-Turbo® WP protects the spores from this radiation, keeping the fungus active for longer and enhancing the efficiency of biological control.
